Organizational Consensus

Modeling demand and inventory tradeoffs builds stakeholder consensus, helping organizations identify and plan for potential risks more effectively.

The impact of improved Demand and Inventory Planning

The modern marketplace is volatile and always changing. SKU proliferation is on the rise, supply chains have gotten longer, lead times are less predictable, and demand patterns more intermittent and less forecastable. Yet most organizations have continued to rely on spreadsheets or ERP-provided solutions that fall well short of meeting the business needs of the modern supply chain.

Data is often siloed, limiting visibility across the organization, while formal approaches for forecasting and establishing inventory policy rely primarily on rule of thumb logic or are nonexistent. The result is too much inventory, unhappy customers, and a company unable to respond to uncertainty. Investments aimed at improving demand forecast accuracy, demand planning processes, and optimizing inventory will yield significant economic benefits.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. It is a web native platform and designed to operate in Epicor’s multi-tenant cloud. However, it is designed to work with both on-premises and cloud versions of ERP systems. Many of our customers run on-premises ERP systems.

If you are running an on-premises instance of the ERP then the IP&O integration will be installed locally. The integration is very small piece of code that leverages the ERP system’s APIs. The entire platform and end user applications operate natively in the cloud - no local installs are required.

Yes. IP&O is SOC 2 Type Certified and is hosted on Amazon Web Services data centers. All data is stored in US data centers. Epicor IP&O can accommodate international customers that require data be stored in their country by deploying IP&O on local AWS instances. However, there will be an additional implementation fee for customers wishing to use a non-US data center.

Our software is not formally ITAR certified, but our SOC Certifications does meet many of the standards required by ITAR. In addition, the data that Epicor imports does not include any personally identifiable information, drawings, blueprints, or pictures. Finally, we can provide the ERP integration code (not the integration itself) to your IT department enabling the extraction of data from the ERP and writing back to be 100% in your control.

Yes. During the demo, we can show how IP&O will update Epicor ERP with demand forecasts and Min/Max/Safety levels and do so in real time. Pease note that the integration should be used only to save results back to the ERP only. You should never run the data import from Epicor as this will wipe your IP&O database of the demand history that we have curated so you can run an effective demo. If you do accidentally do this, contact us on EpicNet and let us know. We’ll reset your database.

The platform’s integration to Epicor does a one-time data load of all data in Epicor and then runs imports nightly thereafter to pull in the prior day’s transactions and master data. In addition to the daily updates, IP&O can schedule periodic refreshes as far back into history as the customer chooses. This periodic reconciliation ensures that corrections in Epicor ERPs are reflected in IP&O. While IP&O is updated daily, demand forecasts and stocking policies are auto recomputed on either a weekly or monthly cadence.
