Financials Core

At the heart of Epicor Financials is the Financials Core package, the cornerstone of a reliable, fast, flexible, and modern financial accounting and reporting system. 

The Financials Core package includes the necessary tools to automate and integrate your company's daily financial operations, allowing you to grow as your business demands.

From managing invoices and payments to automating processes, Financials Core gives you full control and visibility of financial transactions and processes—regardless of your company's size.

The Financials Core package comes with the following built-in capabilities without any additional fee:

  • Full Accounts Payable (AP) processing and accounting
  • Receiving financial transactions for Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • A complete General Ledger (GL)
  • Financial Report Designer (FRD)
  • Epicor Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)—with the Financial Statements and Reports package

For organizations with more than one location, records of the transactions that occur across the business often get scattered and disorganized. This makes it uniquely challenging to gain the insight you need to address resource requirements, meet customer expectations, and improve profitability. An additional complexity is introduced when your sites act as different legal entities or companies.

With the Multi-Site Management module in Epicor Financials, you can easily set up different companies, manage intercompany activity, and get financial control on all sites in one system. Each company may run Epicor Financials in the cloud or on-premises, whichever is preferred, for ultimate business flexibility and regional fit. Easily include any number of servers, databases, cloud data centers, companies, countries, and continents across your sites to achieve a unified, borderless, global business. 

With this optional module, you can securely separate all transactions within a company for each site and allow the site users to access only the transactions relevant to their own location. Only authorized corporate users can access and work with the full range of GL accounts in the company. This separation works across a series of activities in Epicor Financials, such as invoices, payments, AP, GL transaction entries, allocations, period closing, trackers, dashboards, reports, and more. The beauty of this solution is that you can run multiple sites independently of each other while still using the same book, Chart of Accounts, in the same company or legal entity.

Running a business in an international setting requires your company to manage commercial transactions in multiple currencies. With Epicor Financials, you can manage daily currency exchange rates, purchases, and sales transactions in different currencies, run a periodic currency revaluation, or have a booking currency and reporting currencies in different books in different companies. This is often used with the Multi-Company Management module.

Epicor FP&A is a highly recommended solution for creating financial statements, budget planning, forecasting, and consolidated reporting. It has a web-based interface and an Excel add-in. Sold only as a SaaS solution, it connects to cloud and on-premises deployed ERP systems.

Epicor FP&A packages are offered to fit the size of your business, from small to large, from one company to multiple companies. The entry-level package called Financial Statements & reports delivers financial statement generation, while all the other packages provide Machine Learning driven budget planning with increasing legal entities.

Epicor ECM is a fully digitized repository with business automation that eliminates the waste and double handling associated with paper, poorly maintained online folders, and never-ending email threads. Epicor ECM empowers your team to capture, store, and manage any document or file from any location on any device. The AP Automation feature in ECM allows companies to process, recognize, and book incoming invoices automatically.

With the Epicor ADP Payroll Integration, you have the ability to set up employee pay groups, calculate and edit payable hours, and produce a file pre-formatted and ready for submission to ADP. Then, you can book the GL journal transactions accordingly.

Enterprise Search

Enterprise Search brings the Internet search experience to Epicor Financials. It provides embedded search capabilities through tag clouds of Epicor structured data that span all Epicor Financials applications built upon it, and it can also extend beyond enterprise data to unstructured data like Word documents—all in a secure manner.

Business Activity Query (BAQ)

With a user-friendly, easy-to-learn query editor, you can create and share live data queries and speed up reviewing transactions. You can also get access to data at your fingertips, the way you like. This will make your team more agile, actionable, and responsive.

Business Process Management (BPM)

Business Process Management (BPM) is all about identifying and improving processes to make your business more efficient, disciplined, and better able to adapt to change. Epicor incorporates the BPM technology to enable organizations to automate and streamline business processes for continuous improvement.

Epicor Functions

Epicor Functions sit alongside BPMs. When you create functions, you set up your own unique ERP method. Both internal and external sources can then call this function to execute these processes (services). For example, a function can be called internally to look up a phone number or called externally from an outside program that attaches documents to part records. The Epicor Functions library is built over time to reuse these functions—eliminating the need to copy and paste this logic to multiple BPM directives.

Application Studio

Application Studio offers an easier and faster way to create your own user interface. Configure screens, fields, row rules, events, page layouts, and more through a visual designer and drag and drop functionality to add components―all done in a low code/no code environment.

Epicor Identity

Epicor Identity provides an added layer of security and central management of users across Epicor systems for log-in and authentication. Users maintain a single log-in to access Kinetic, Prophet 21, Epicor ECM (DocStar), Senior Living Solution, Epicor Ideas, the EpicCare support portal, the EpicWeb product portal, and the Learning Management System (LMS), with additional systems coming soon.

Change Data Capture (CDC)

Change Data Capture (CDC) is a method that allows you to synchronize information in real-time between Kinetic and other systems and applications. It identifies and captures data you create, update, and delete from Epicor and makes this change data available for use by different applications.

REST services

Representational state transfer (REST) services are a type of web service based on the architecture of the internet. Through this application program interface (API), these services link applications more easily through Internet-type connections. No code/low code configurations provide flexible solutions to help you stay ahead.
