Epicor Named a Leader in the 2026 IDC MarketScape for Worldwide AI-Enabled Manufacturing ERP >
Austin, TX
Epicor combines industry-specific ERP, embedded AI agents and a broad partner ecosystem to help manufacturers move from insight to action
Epicor, a global provider of industry-specific enterprise software, today announced that the company has been positioned in the Leaders Category of the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide AI-Enabled Manufacturing ERP 2026 Vendor Assessment (#US54115426, October 2026). For more information on the research, visit our website.
The IDC MarketScape evaluates vendors’ current capabilities and future strategies for AI-enabled manufacturing ERP. Epicor Kinetic, the company’s flagship cloud ERP for manufacturers, anchors Epicor’s manufacturing portfolio, while Epicor Prism, Epicor Lux, Agent Foundry and headless ERP support Epicor’s broader Cognitive ERP strategy.
According to the IDC MarketScape, "Epicor pairs vertical breadth with subvertical depth, mapping functionality to the specific requirements of each industry it serves."
The report adds, "Epicor is distinguishing itself with its cognitive ERP capabilities, including an industry data model, vertical agents, the Epicor Lux–governed design system for agents, Agent Foundry, and headless ERP (with the business logic decoupled from the UI, enabling external AI tools to interact with the ERP data via open Model Context Protocol [MCP] connections)."
“Manufacturing ERP leadership is increasingly about more than the capabilities of a core application. It is about how effectively a vendor connects industry-specific processes, embedded AI, governance, extensibility and implementation expertise,” said Vaibhav Vorha, Epicor Chief Executive Officer. “I believe this recognition reflects Epicor’s work to help manufacturers move from ERP insight to intelligent action, with Kinetic at the foundation and our AI agents increasingly embedded in the flow of work.”
AI agents at work today
Cognitive ERP moves ERP from a system of record to a system of action. Epicor Prism, Epicor's agentic AI platform, embeds industry-specific agents directly into Kinetic workflows, so teams can ask questions of live ERP data, get the "why" behind it, and act without leaving the flow of work. Prism agents already handle natural language queries, anomaly detection, and automated actions across Kinetic. Epicor Lux gives customers a governed framework for designing and securing agents, and Prism Agent Foundry will let customers and partners build, verify, and share their own. Through headless ERP, Epicor is opening Kinetic's business logic to external AI tools via open Model Context Protocol (MCP) connections.
Smarter inventory, protected margins
For manufacturers, inventory is cash sitting on the shelf. Kinetic automates minimum inventory calculations based on actual supplier lead times, so stocking levels reflect how the supply chain really performs, not static rules. In some instances, Epicor customers have used these capabilities to reduce inventory within 18 months.
“Manufacturers need more than promising technology, they need a path to value in their plants, warehouses, and supply chains.” said Rachel Barger, Chief Revenue Officer, Epicor. “Epicor’s approximately 1,800 partners extend implementation capacity, local expertise and industry-specific innovation, helping customers put AI-enabled ERP into practice wherever they operate.”
Cloud-first, delivered locally
Kinetic runs cloud native on Microsoft Azure, with hybrid deployment supported. About 87% of new Epicor customers choose the cloud and 82% of existing customers have transitioned from Epicor on-premises to a cloud deployment.
Through Ascend with Epicor, qualified customers for rapid cloud implementations can get their core business workflows running in as little as 90 days, realizing ERP value sooner while establishing a strong foundation to expand capabilities over time.
A network of roughly 1,800 Epicor partners extends implementation capacity, local support, and industry-specific add-ons to manufacturers wherever they operate.
