Feruni Ceramiche began their business in 2001, focusing on the supply of quality porcelain and ceramic tiles to commercial and residential properties. Its products are available either directly to project developers or through retail stores located across Malaysia, where it is headquartered.

In 2011, Feruni began producing its own tile designs and commissioned the production of these to manufacturers in the region. This move placed Feruni on an accelerated growth path, with double-digit business growth year after year.

Today, Feruni is a leading tile manufacturer and supplier, with six offices across the country, and plans to expand its operations globally. Feruni's tiles have been used in many well-known properties in key markets across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.

Business challenge

Feruni was outgrowing the capabilities of its enterprise accounting system. The billing and accounting software was not integrated to other back-end systems and data, limiting inter-department collaboration and communication. The entire process, from the closure of sales to delivery and billing, were handled by several disparate systems. Sales staff were not able to retrieve real-time data on the movement of inventory and so were not able to advise their customers on the status of their orders.

"The system did not always reflect the true status of our inventory. When we issue a delivery order to customers, the system will automatically indent the stock from our inventory. However, in reality, the goods have not left our site," Ms. Lim commented.

The accounting system was also not aligned to Feruni's business process. Ms. Lim continued, "The sales cycle involves picking up the tiles, packing, shipping, and finally invoicing. However, a sales staff may have issued an invoice to a customer upon the closure of sales. From the accounting system, there was no way of knowing whether the goods have been delivered."


Feruni began looking for a solution that could support its rapid business growth. The company wanted an integrated enterprise resource planning solution that can provide them with the consolidated information on inventory and billing. The entire implementation took only three months and was only possible because of the close cooperation between the Epicor team and Feruni. Despite the accelerated schedule, the system went live without any major issues.
