Recognizing revenue by closing open orders 

Having real-time information about the business is essential for CBM. "Performance Manager is a great tool that we use for marketing and sales," said Jay Saxton, sales and operations director at CBM. "We see a list of our top 100 customers and then tailor marketing programs just for them. We have a large number of customer accounts, and before Performance Manager it was difficult for us to see their open orders. Today, the dashboard gives us a quick summary, from which we drill down and choose the orders we want to bill by the end of the month. Customers benefit when their open orders are proactively attended to and CBM has improved its monthly close rates."

Real-time price quotes from anywhere 

"Our goal at CBM is very simple-service our customers," said Saxton. "Mobile Manager enables our salespeople to service ourcustomers on their jobsites by looking up account status, checking inventory and prices, all from a smartphone. Recently I was waiting to meet with a client who, when I arrived, was checking pricing with a drywall vendor. When he hung up the phone, I said, 'how much is that drywall?' He said, '5/8"- 8' are twelve dollars'. Right there, using Mobile Manager on my iPhone, I quoted him pricing, availability, along with his drywall purchases for the last six months. Mobile Manager makes you look like you're ahead of the game. In a matter of seconds, you can provide information. No more going back to the office and sending a fax later. That's how we outservice our competition." 

Reduced card processing transaction fees 

Enhancing technical capabilities to improve operations is a constant goal at CBM. "Our former payment processor was costly and difficult for the back office to reconcile credit and debit card transactions," said Saxton. "Epicor Payment Exchange saves us money on transaction fees when customers select debit on smaller transactions, which they are now prompted to do. And reconciliation is much easier with the system that is integrated with Eagle."

Technology that delivers results 

"Eagle software makes us more productive across our entire business in everything we do," said Saxton. "We use Eagle eConnect for software updates, which allows us to pre-set the optimal time to automatically run software updates across all of our terminals. Eagle also takes care of important background processing with Secure Data Backup, which runs automatically and backs up our system to a secure off-site server each night. And we have network protection with Watchdog ISS to protect us from network viruses, hackers, and spam. We use Document Management because our customers expect to be able to digitally sign orders and receipts or receive e-invoices and e-statements. Processing special orders takes two quick steps instead of four. We rely on Eagle software every day."
