A membership plaque was recently presented to Chris Purcell, Senior Product Marketing Manager at Epicor during a breakfast event hosted by the SCOC at Sheffield Hilton Hotel. Chris was invited to present his views on 'How to survive Brexit' and 'What does Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things (IoT) mean for you?', to fellow members of the Chamber.
Established in 1857, the SCOC is a membership organization that supports, connects and grows local business in the Sheffield region. Its aim is to ensure that decisions made by local and central government are in the best interests of Sheffield's businesses and the region as a whole.
Commenting on the recent membership award and plaque presentation, Chris said, "Epicor is delighted to have received this honor from the SCOC. Our membership will help us work even more closely with the local manufacturing industry in Sheffield and deliver enterprise resource planning solutions that help with local business development and growth.
"It's always great to see and hear first-hand how our technology is being used by businesses. As a country, we are facing some turbulent times with many companies struggling to decide the best way forward. I welcomed the opportunity to share our thoughts on how technology can be used to help businesses remain agile and responsive so that they can, not only survive, but thrive, during our current economic and political climate. The North has always been a heartland for manufacturing in the UK and to be invited into its community in this way is indeed gratifying".
