Shoon Fatt Biscuit and Confectionery Factory Selects Epicor ERP to Support Business Growth

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, January 30, 2018

Epicor Software Corporation, a global provider of industry-specific enterprise software to promote business growth, today announced that Shoon Fatt Biscuit & Confectionery Factory Sdn Bhd has chosen its global enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution, Epicor ERP, to improve business visibility and support the company's rapid growth.

Established in 1966, Shoon Fatt specialises in making crackers, cookies, wafer rolls, and sandwich biscuits in Malaysia. Growing from a simple shop house to a six-acre factory plant, Shoon Fatt is now one of Malaysia's oldest and best loved biscuit and confectionary manufacturers. Over a ten-year period, the business has expanded its portfolio of sweet treats and now exports products across Southeast Asia, New Zealand, and the Middle East.

To support its continuous growth and future expansion ambitions, Shoon Fatt chose Epicor ERP as it was the most suitable solution to support the company's long-term growth strategy. With plans to implement Epicor ERP across the whole organisation, the team predicts it will realise the greatest impact by integrating and streamlining existing business processes.

“Over the past decade, we have implemented multiple disparate systems to cope with our growth,” said Loo Yoke Phooi, chief finance officer for Shoon Fatt. “This meant different departments in the organisation were operating in silos, leaving us with data inconsistencies and minimal visibility over the entire organisation. In the long run, this was inhibiting business decisions, resulting in increased cost and reduced productivity.

“We are confident that with the Epicor ERP solution in place we will be able to support our growth plans by improving efficiency and enabling better business planning. By bringing together our existing systems in an integrated companywide ERP solution, we see opportunities to improve the consistency of our data and provide us with total visibility of our operations. As we plan to expand into new markets, access to accurate information is necessary for effective collaboration across departments, meaningful analysis and supported decision-making.”

“Epicor has long expertise of developing ERP software for food and beverage manufacturers,” said Vincent Tang, regional vice president Asia for Epicor Software. “Our solutions are specifically designed to provide the greatest level of flexibility and agility for growing businesses like Shoon Fatt. We are proud to see a Malaysian business like Shoon Fatt select Epicor ERP to meet its business goals, and look forward to supporting the company in its vision to grow.”
