“What set Tropos apart was the fact that it is a software platform that is clearly born out of a production and manufacturing focus, whereas some of its competitors’ products seem to have grown out of a finance package. The manufacturing focus is key to supporting the growth of our business and how we compete with our counterparts,”
Ross Turner, Key Account Manager
"With the Tropos solution we can understand our product costs better and that, in turn, means we can make better business decisions."
Andy Giles, IT Manager | Allergy Therapeutics
The Wood Yard
“Our new version of BisTrack software has more bells and whistles which offer time savings and our half yearly stock takes can be replaced by regular stock checks,”
Andrew Haydock, Managing Director
"Tropos has grown with us as a business, and without it we certainly wouldn’t be where we are today.”
Nigel Hebron, Finance Director
“After implementing case management in Epicor ERP and replicating our previously manual workflows to virtual ones, we have managed to half the process time, create a completely paper-less system, and save a vast amount of work hours per week."
Daniel Topp, Head of IT
First Choice Group
“Each day we spend using the Epicor ERP software, the more we realise it delivers over and above our previous, out-of-date system,”
James Rostron, Systems Manager
“The chore was to migrate the data from multiple distinct systems.
Epicor DMT provided the pipeline for verifying and validating these details on
a cell-by-cell basis as well as cleansing the data for use in a user-friendly
manner without gaps. Once the templates were set all you had to do was press
‘go.’ It was just that easy.”
Jeng Lim, Systems Analyst
Kiilto Family Oy
“By combining Epicor ERP and iScala as a two-tiered ERP solution, all the information is gathered in one place. This has helped us to meet our business challenges and increase opportunities to grow.”
Ville Kenttä, ICT Service Manager
“The real-time element of Mattec is certainly the best part of running the software. Our employees are able to react instantly, and in turn, can make more informed decisions based on better data. With our previous software, we would have to put pieces of historical data together and wouldn’t know if something needed to be done right away. Now, rather than letting something go wrong, we can deal with it there and then because we have access to real-time information,”
Alan Humphries, System Developer
"In comparison to the older systems we had in place, Epicor ERP is very different and offers more functionalities and features. Employees are taking time to get used to the software and to know how to make the most of it in order for us to achieve our growth goals."
Gillian Fernie, Finance Director
Servitization and the Customer Service Supply Chain—the View From a Primary SupplierI ended my "Servitization and the customer service supply chain" article with a commitment to follow the chain from a primary supplier through to the consumer and then share with you what I’ve found. To recap, the questions I am interested in getting answers to include: are manufacturing businesses using customer experience to differentiate themselves? If they are, how are they doing this, and how are they impacted by the customer service they receive from their suppliers?
Intermediate Services—the Start of Your Servitization JourneyIn my September post, the ironically titled "Are British factories an Endangered Species" (and for the record the answer is an emphatic NO!) I proposed that servitization was a route through which business could grow and simultaneously deepen the relationships they have with their customers. While the biggest benefits of the servitization transformation are realised when the business starts to offer advanced services (outcome focused on capability)—providing intermediate services (outcomes based on product condition) is probably a good place for most business to start their servitization journey.
Servitization and the Customer Service Supply ChainIn my recent article "Are British factories an endangered species?" I talked about how UK manufacturers can use the process of servitization as another way of staying ahead of the competition. Whether a manufacturer is offering intermediate services such as a helpdesk, periodic maintenance, repair and overhaul; or advanced capability-based services such as "kilometres moved" offered by companies such as MAN Truck and Bus UK or Alstom’s Train-Life services, customer service will be a key component of the “service” provided.
Are British Factories an Endangered Species? With the rate of change accelerating fast the outlook for large chunks of UK manufacturing is far from rosy. The basic business model for large numbers of factories up and down the country can’t be sustainable in the long term.
Brexit — Change and the Need for AgilityAs the dust settles after the referendum in the UK last week, companies are facing the challenge of sifting through the uncertainty and concerns surrounding the impact of the result that the UK will leave the European Union (EU). "Brexit" is now a reality and the global markets have already felt the impact of the vote. Many businesses are wondering how this decision will alter the way they conduct business with partners, suppliers and customers at home and abroad.
Users helping users at the upcoming UK and EMEA EUG conferenceWe’re looking forward to meeting a full house of Epicor users and partners during the Epicor User Group (EUG) conference for the UK and EMEA next week. Taking place on June 22 and 23 at Staverton Park Hotel, Daventry, UK, it promises to be a busy and exciting event.
How to Eliminate Inefficiency to Propel Your Growth—and Protect Your BrandAs a manufacturer, you understand that to grow in today’s competitive global markets means that your business must operate with increasing efficiency. However, this can quickly lead to a catch-22 situation that perhaps you’ve experienced: while you’re working to become more efficient to drive growth, unplanned growth happens—such as surprise surges in demand that you just weren’t prepared for. And suddenly, you find that your operations are overwhelmed and becoming less efficient instead of more so.
