The Connected Retailer: Meeting Customers Where They Want to Be
Will your next customer find you or find out about you on Twitter? Facebook? Snapchat? Your own website? At your store, can they pay simply by waving their smartphone over your card terminal?
If you don’t have all the answers to these questions, you’re not alone—but you will need a plan to better connect to today’s consumers.
In this day and age consumers dictate how, where, and when they research and make purchases. With more and more people virtually living on their smartphones and connecting via social media, independent retailers need to strategize about how to get and stay connected.
Recently, I had the pleasure of leading a webinar to share tips on better connecting retailers with consumers via social media, smartphone apps, online communities, and how to track results while protecting their business and their time.
During The Connected Retailer webinar, I outlined the following:
- Identify the right connection points—social media, smartphone apps, online communities and more—for interacting with and influencing consumers in your market
- Spark conversations about—and interaction with—your business, then keep those conversations going without investing too much of your time
- Make things easy—Maximize loyalty and co-op programs, one-click ordering, mobile payments, text customer service support and more to help you become a "Connected Retailer"
- Protect your business (and your customers) by securely storing customer data and using modern payment methods
In partnership with Hardware + Building Supply Dealer, we designed The Connected Retailer white paper which explores how three hardware stores have embraced interconnected retail. Click here
