Jednym z decydujących kryteriów wyboru zintegrowanego systemu ERP był wymóg, aby aplikacja posiadała moduł produkcyjny z rozliczaniem finansowym produkcji. Priorytetem dla EKA było obliczenie jednostkowego kosztu produkcji, moduł zapasów i magazynu oraz zintegrowane kadry i płace. W procesie wyboru rozwiązania rozpatrywane były także inne systemy m.in. dotychczasowego krajowego dostawcy i dużej firmy zagranicznej, które nie spełniały jednak wymagań EKA m.in. ze względu na funkcjonalności i cenę. Zdecydowano, zatem na wdrożenie systemu ERP firmy Epicor.
