New Epicor Windows Phone 8 Apps Help Businesses Streamline Time and Expense Tracking, Support BYOD Strategies

Touch-Optimized Apps Free Employees from Cumbersome Filing, Streamline Billing and Improve Accuracy and Transparency for Greater Customer Satisfaction

EPICOR INSIGHTS 2014 -- LAS VEGAS, April 29, 2014 -- Epicor Software Corporation, a global leader in business software solutions for manufacturing, distribution, retail and services organizations, introduced two new Windows Phone® 8 mobile apps, here today at the company’s annual user conference. The apps -- Expenses and Time Entry -- are designed to streamline recording and improve the accuracy and efficiency of time and expense tracking for employees in the field.

The apps are specifically designed to leverage the design elements and user experience of the Windows Phone® 8, and to give IT organizations the flexibility to support an increasingly mobile workforce and BYOD strategies that are becoming more commonplace. Researchers say that some 30% of the global workforce relies on phones and tablets to get work done on the road and more than 80% of workers have at least some portion of their work tasks that regularly takes place away from an office.

Available via download from the Windows App Store, the new touch-optimized Expenses and Timekeeping Windows Phone 8 integrate with both Epicor ERP and Epicor iScala software. The apps allow employees to focus on actively producing revenue instead of furiously scribbling down notes and having to later recollect and reconstruct details -- which may lack accuracy. Use of the apps to track and report time and expenses also streamlines billing of transactions, improving cash flow and providing clear time stamped entries and supporting documentation to support dispute resolution when needed, key to customer satisfaction.

The Expenses and Timekeeping apps reside on users’ Windows 8 phones and are accessible via an icon. The apps feature Dashboards, Timesheets and Expense Tracking Forms, Reminders, Memos, Rounding, Notifications, Personalization, and Sharing. A software wizard interface ensures time and expenses are logged in a manner that ensures accurate reporting with minimal time and effort. The apps make it easy to edit entries and/or attach images, and provide quick access to summary or reference views with just a tap. Users can view attachments -- such as receipt images captured through the camera -- in full screen view model with pinch and zoom support, and also pin dashboards to the home screen for easy reference.

Epicor Windows Phone 8 apps work with existing Microsoft® infrastructure, easing back end administration and enabling organizations to maximize the value of their existing Microsoft investments. As well, Epicor Windows Phone 8 apps leverage Microsoft’s layered security approach, so organizations can deploy with confidence knowing the apps are rigorously protected.

Epicor Commerce Connect is a toolset and connector to the Magento® open commerce platform that is developed, implemented, and supported by Epicor. It is designed to create substantial savings based on an affordable entry price, ability to implement rapidly, and scalability through comprehensive feature sets that support advanced B2C, B2B or B2B2C online commerce requirements.

Fully integrated to Epicor ERP version 10, Epicor Commerce Connect eliminates the need to maintain a separate product database and provides streamlined access to ordering, product or account information including customer specific pricing, inventory levels, marketing and customer service processes -- all in real-time using ERP data that can be viewed online via Epicor Commerce Connect.

Additionally, Epicor Commerce Connect provides gateways to Android and iOS mobile devices with responsive design that automatically formats the website to the size of the screen, enabling fast, efficient browsing and an optimal user experience on mobile devices.

Epicor Consumer Connect is for businesses serving a direct-to-consumer channel. Epicor provides the tools and framework to engage them online, and provides specific features for selling online to consumers such as guest and account login, open site allowing browsing before login, anonymous checkout, sophisticated message caching for B2C performance enhancements, and ERP payment via Epicor Secure Data Manager (ESDM) where the website will display a page and collect the consumer detail for processing by the ERP. Epicor Commerce Connect is PCI compliant, so no card details are held within the solution – any communication with a payment gateway is conducted over a secure HTTPS connection.

Epicor Consumer Connect is designed to give business users the same online experience and ease of use provided by top consumer websites. Features include the ability to view special promotions and pricelists, make repeat purchase and pay on account. Other features include portal only login, instant payment options, and a shopping basket that allows users to search and add products and update or remove items, request for quote (RFQ) option, and more.

Epicor Supplier Connect enables businesses to maintain more convenient, seamless and cost effective relationships with suppliers through websites that provides online self-service and whole range of inquiry options -- open orders, part information and access to invoice and payment history. With easy access to the information that suppliers need most frequently, Epicor Supplier Connect helps reduce or eliminate time spent on questions that come in via email, phone, or fax -- liberating employees to devote their time to other more value-added relationship building efforts.

Epicor Commerce Connect also includes a configurator module that provides a fast and efficient mechanism to display product option on one page – allowing customers to simply and easily select product specifications, streamlining quoting, pricing and order management.
